Called to the bar in 2002
A real force to be reckoned with, Jonathan Duffy has shown time and time again that his hardwork and court room style is a great recipe for both his success and the defending of his clients. With a great interest in the most complex fraud cases including Carousel frauds and Computer frauds, Jonathan is able to bring his wealth of experience in order to create a simplification of the evidence and allow all concerned to focus on the key issues within the case.
His enthusiasm as a direct access fraud barrister is shadowed only be the value he places on client care. Jonathan fully understands the need to sound case preparation and in doing so wishes to have regular client contact to allow for regular instructions and case updates.
As a highly respected direct access fraud barrister Jonathan is in high demand and is regularly instructed and engaged at the first instance following charge.
He has defended in some extremely high profile trials in recent years, notably that involving the principal Defendant accused of the Murder of Rhys Jones in Liverpool and those of Dennis Slade, accused of conspiring with others to commit Murder and Robbery in Leeds.
“Has a wide-ranging practice covering every aspect of criminal law. He is principally noted for his work on behalf of defending solicitors.
